Welcome
We are fortunate in the UK
that we have a great variety of buildings, from the very old
to the very modern, built in different materials, of varying
colours etc. Of course some of them are quite ugly, although
I’m sure the architect would disagree, some of them very
beautiful! It’s all a matter of one’s own taste. I am always
fascinated how over the years different methods of
construction have evolved according to the materials and
technologies available to the builder. Stone has played its
part in Northamptonshire to create beautiful natural
buildings, as well as the metals, glass and exotic materials
we see today. If you had the opportunity to question the
designers of each and every building, I’m sure the majority
would all agree that the foundations laid down are the most
important part of the construction. Without a firm and sure
foundation, most would collapse very quickly under the
stresses and strains of use and of course the weather.
We have in each of our
villages, three beautiful churches that have stood for
thousand years, and continues to thrive in these uncertain
times. This is because of the personal faith of each member
of the church over the years, and as we are told in the
Bible, “Christ is the cornerstone” The importance of
maintaining the building is something we are entrusted with,
but even more important is the continuation of Good News
that Jesus brings. Jesus showed us love beyond our human
love, and we are asked to share that with all, no matter
what background, culture, or belief. Build your life on
something that will last forever.
